The Architectural Technology Program at Tarrant County College Southeast Campus in Arlington, TX is announcing the availability for interested students and design professionals of two new 12 week course. These courses are:
ARCH 1308 – ARCHITECTURAL GRAPHICS II – REVIT
Fridays: 5:30pm to 9:30 pm and Saturdays 8:30am to 12:30 pm.
ARCT 1373 – BUILDING SYSTEM DESIGN AND THE GREEN ADVANTAGE
Saturdays: 8:30am - 12:30pm
The courses will enable participants to achieve an Advanced Architectural Technology Technical Skills Enhancement - Green Building Performance Certificate upon completing the other required classes as well. The courses will be offered as a part of its current classes for Fall Semester, 2009. The course of instruction will begin September 25th and continue through December 5th. The cost for registration for each course is $150.
ARCH 1308 – ARCHITECTURAL GRAPHICS II – REVIT will exposed participants to the Autodesk’s Building Information Modeling software - Revit. Participants with knowledge of the basics of AutoCAD and building systems will be a plus. This software is the latest innovation in the architectural and construction industry and is professionals with these skills are in much demand even during this period of recession.
Taught by local architects who are LEED certified, ARCT 1373 – BUILDING SYSTEM DESIGN AND THE GREEN ADVANAGE will focus on applying green and sustainable design to various building systems and construction methods. Advantages of the implementation for these sustainable building systems will be examined
Design and construction professionals as well as architecture and interior design students will find the material useful and are encouraged to enroll.
Individuals interested in registering for these 12 week courses of instruction, may do so as a credit course.

BMC West (a Professional Affiliate member of the AIA Dallas) is offering a free half day of education and millwork plant tour to Architects and Designers of north Texas. Marvin Windows and Trustile Doors will be offering courses approved for 2 AIA-CES credits (HSW) or 0.1 ASID-CEU credit.
Following lunch, there will be a tour of the world-class custom and production mill facility.
